Conference calls take place on Saturday mornings promptly between 8:30-9:30am, on the first Saturday of each month, our schedules permitting. The agendas of our meetings are posted on our web site: www.sograd.com\aacca.

The face to face meeting of 02/12/00 took place at the Diocese and Surpazan Hayr was able to attend the meeting and give us guidance on our Junior Choir Program.

The face to face meeting of 02/26/00 (participants consisting of the Junior Choir Program Core Committee of the Central Council) took place at the Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge, MA. The meeting was dedicated to the planning stages of the Junior Choir Program, under the leadership of the Junior Choir Program Chairman, Deacon Gregory Krikorian.

The face to face meeting of 05/05/00 took place during the Diocesan Assembly weekend. In addition to having the Central Council meeting, members of the Central Council were invited to participate in the Diocesan Assemblyıs workshops.

The face to face meeting of 06/10/00 took place at the Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge, MA, and was dedicated for further planning stages of the Junior Choir Program.

The face to face meeting of 08/19/00 took place at St Mary's Armenian Church, Washington, D.C. The focus of the meeting was the Junior Choir Program and how the rollout of this program was going to be introduced during the 54th Choir Assembly workshops.

Note: In addition to conference calls and face to face meetings, e-mails are used quite extensively between the Central Council members as a form of quick and informal communication. Over 1000 e-mails have been exchanged over the course of this past year among the Central Council members.

Publications:

The Abbreviated Sunday Morning Service (dedicated to past Central Council member Norman Noorjanian) is scheduled for publication 4th quarter 2000. A draft of the publication will be available at the 54th Annual Choir Assembly.

Scholarships:

This year the Central Council awarded four scholarships:

Two $250 scholarships to St Nersess Conferences - awarded 6/10/00.
One $250 scholarship to the St Vartan Camp - awarded 6/10/00.
One $500 scholarship for the Margaret E. Hagopian Fund - awarded 8/19/00.

The 54th Annual Choir Assembly:

This will take place in Haverhill, MA, November 2-5, 2000 hosted by the parish choir of St Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church. Arpie Kouzouian is working with the host parish chairman Paul Tavitian in making preparations. The Central Council has been receiving updates on progress made during conference calls and face to face meetings of the Central Council.

Special Projects:

Mary Selvinazian serves as the Special Projects coordinator. Year 2000 activities have include: the Fund Raiser, support for the Junior Choir Program, Choir Robes and Veils orders, and various newspaper publicity activities.

The Central Council would like to thank Maestro Khoren Meikhanedjian for his continued input and feedback regarding the formation of the Junior Choir Program. We thank Fr Untzag Nalbandian who is always available to us and offers his guidance and support. We also would like to thank Surpazan Hayr for support of our activities.

Year 2000 Objective of the Central Council:

The primary objective of the Central Council this year is to plan and deploy a comprehensive Junior Choir Program - one that can be used by our parishes for both the purposes of encouraging new choir membership, and to also offer a foundation of knowledge for full spiritual participation in our church services.
