Central Council Conference Calls and Meetings:

Conference calls take place on Saturday mornings promptly between 8:30-9:30am. We try to do it on the first Saturday of each month, our schedules permitting. The agenda of our meetings is posted on our web site: www.sograd.com\aacca.
The face to face meeting of 02/12/00 took place at the Diocese and Surpazan Hayr was able to attend the meeting and give us guidance on our Junior Choir Program.
The face to face meeting of 02/26/00 took place at the Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge, MA, and was dedicated to the planning stages of the Junior Choir Program, under the leadership of the Junior Choir Program Chairman, Deacon Gregory Krikorian.

Central Council Financial Report:

The Central Councilšs Financial Report for the period of 1/1/99 thru 12/31/99 was submitted to the Diocese on 2/28/00.

Publicity:

Newspaper articles have been submitted to: The Armenian Church, Armenian Reporter, Armenian Mirror-Spectator - regarding the Jerusalem Pilgrimage Choir, and the Junior Choir Program .

Publications:

The Khorenian Badarak, published by the AACCA in October of 1999, is available through the Central Council and the Diocese Bookstore.

Scholarships:

The Central Council will award the following scholarships for year 2000: Two $250 scholarships to St Nersess Conferences; One $250 scholarship to the St Vartan Camp; One $500 scholarship (musical training) for the Margaret E. Hagopian Fund.
Publicity efforts are currently underway for these scholarships.

The 54th Annual Choir Assembly:

This will take place in Haverhill, MA. Arpie Kouzouian, of the Central Council, is working with the host parish in making preparations.

Special Projects:

Mary Selvinazian has been asked to serve as the Special Projects coordinator for the Central Council. Year 2000 quarter 1 activities include: the Fund Raiser, support for the Junior Choir Program, and newspaper publicity.

Support from the Diocese:

The Central Council would like to thank Maestro Khoren Meikhanedjian for his input and feedback regarding the formation of the Junior Choir Program. We thank Fr Untzag Nalbandian who is always available to us and offers his guidance and support almost on a daily basis. We also would like to thank Surpazan Hayr for support of our activities - with this year the focus being on the Junior Choir Program.

Year 2000 Objective of the Central Council:

The primary objective of the Central Council for the year 2000 it to plan and deploy a comprehensive Junior Choir Program. A program that can be used by our parishes for both the purposes of encouraging new choir membership, and to also offer a foundation of knowledge for full spiritual participation in our church services.
