These English translations are from an effort made by Father Thomas Doyle.

He has translated the entire Sharagnots into English. His work is essentially in a draft mode and was gifted to our diocese by him about 15 years ago (1991). It is a valuable source for a better understanding of the Sharagans for those who do not read krapar .

At the same time, since these English translations are in a draft mode, they are not yet ready for publication. At this point I am not aware of any efforts for refining this work for publication.

But having found this jewel (through Rev. Fr Tavit Boyajian - no relation me), I thought it would be a good idea to at least extract the translations of the Jashoo Sharagans we sing on Sundays and post them on this web site.

I thank Rev. Fr Arten Ashjian, Gladys Avakian, and Mary Selvinazian for their assistance in preparing this section of the web site.

A special thanks also goes to Rev. Fr Simeon Odabashian for pointing out that some of the sharagans that we sing during our Sunday services may not all be listed as Jashoo Sharagans in the Sharagnots. For instance the Jashoo Sharagans sung in the Badarak during Lent are listed as Orhnootyoon Sharagans in the Sharagnots not Jashoo Sharagans.
