Association of Armenian Church Choirs of America (AACCA)

Bulletin #04 2004

To: Parish Priests, Parish Council Chairs, Choir Directors, Organists

From: Deacon Gregory Krikorian, AACCA Central Council Chair

Subject: Children's Badarak Book

Date: December 18, 2003

The AACCA has published a new Children's Badarak Book for use by children in Junior Choirs, and by Sunday School Students and children in Parishes that do not have junior choirs to help them learn the Badarak. The music is written in a lower key to make singing of the Badarak hymns easier for the children. The book also has age-appropriate commentary explaining the meaning of each of the Badarak hymns, so the children will understand what they are singing.

Teaching the Holy Badarak to our children is essential, because the Badarak is the heart of our church. The AACCA encourages the use of this publication by all our Parishes as a learning tool for the children, and this book should also be used by the children when participating in singing the Divine Liturgy in Church.

A complimentary copy of our new book is being forwarded to each parish priest. Additional copies may be purchased from the AACCA by contacting Ms. Mary Selvinazian, Central Council Treasurer, at the address below. The price of a Children's Badarak Book is $10 if the AACCA receives your order by December 31, 2003. After that date, the book will be $12.50 per copy through the Diocesan Bookstore. The supply is limited, so don't delay!
