Subject: Amendments and Proposals
In accordance with the Bylaws of the Choir Association, any amendments or proposals to be considered at the forthcoming 54th Annual Assembly in Haverhill, MA, were to have been submitted to the Central Council ninety days prior to the Assembly date.
This is to advise that to date, one amendment has been submitted by the Central Council of the Association of Armenian Church Choirs of America.
No proposals have been received.
Any amendments or proposals submitted after this notice will be considered at the 55th Assembly in the year 2001.
Proposed Amendment to Bylaws:
The following amendment to the Bylaws of the Association of Armenian Church Choirs of America is submitted by the Central Council to the delegates of the 54th Annual Choir Assembly for deliberation. The change involves Article IX, Section I of the Bylaws. The change will increase the Central Council Membership from six persons to seven persons:
ARTICLE IX - Section I
The Annual Assembly shall elect from among active choir members, seven persons to constitute the AACCA Central Council. Term of office shall commence following ratification by the Primate and Diocesan Council.
Rationale:
The Central Council of the Association of Armenain Church Choirs of America has realized increased expectations, accountability, and responsibility in light of the many programs that it funds, supports, and for which it provides oversight for, such as: the Junior Choir Programıs ³Train the Trainerıs² effort and the budget committee needed to support it - the Junior Choir Program will available for all established, and mission, parishes of our Diocese.
