Bulletin #08 2000

To: Parish Priests, Parish Council Chairpersons, Choir Chairpersons, Choir Leaders, Organists

From: Dr Socrates Boyajian, Chair, Central Council

Date: May 1, 2000

Subject: The Khorenian Badarak

The Khorenian Badarak is here! The entire Badarak, written by Maestro Khoren Meikhanedjian, former choir director of the Cathedral Choir in Holy Etchmiadzin, and now choir director of the St Vartan Cathedral Choir, New York and Workshop clinician for our Diocesan Churches, is now available for purchase.

What a great addition it will be to our Church Liturgical Music! This music, commissioned by Vasken Vehapar of Blessed Memory, is being published with the singerıs ease of reading as a prime consideration. The music is spiral bound, easy to hold, opening flat for organistsı ease in playing, and showing four vocal parts. It is our hope that our choirs will purchase this new setting of our Liturgy, learn it and enjoy singing the beautiful music, adding this musical setting to our repertoire so that we may continue to inspire and uplift the congregations of our parishes.

I would like to thank Louise Yardumian and Mary Selvinazian for their endless efforts, who while serving on the Central Council, worked on this publication project from start to finish over a three-year period. We will benefit from their efforts for years to come.
