Association of Armenian Church Choirs of America (AACCA)

Bulletin #06 2000

To: Parish Priests, Parish Council Chairpersons, Choir Chairpersons, Choir Leaders, Organists

From: Dr Socrates Boyajian, Chair, Central Council

Date: May 1, 2000

Subject: HONORING CHOIR MEMBERS AND DEACONS

Choir members and deacons are very special people in the service of the Armenian Church. They willingly give of their time and talents for the embellishment of our worship services and rituals and are happy to receive the spiritual rewards that come from offering their unique gift.

We know that some parishes do indeed recognize this special service and frequently honor their choirs in some particular way. The Central Council sincerely recommends to pastors and parish councils that a special day during the year be designated as "Choir Recognition Day" at which time appreciation can be shown at a parish banquet or reception. Certificates and/or token gifts may be given to those who have served the longest, made extraordinary contributions to the work of the choir, or other criteria the parish may choose.
