Subject: TOURING CHOIR FOR THE YEAR 2000 (Update)

We mentioned in our prior bulletin (#013) that decisions regarding the formation of a touring choir to visit Jerusalem in the year 2000 would be made after consulting with His Beatitude Archbishop Torkom Manoogian.

Now that is has become clear that the date of such pilgrimage to Jerusalem will be for the Feast of Theophany, January 2000, it is necessary to again poll our choir members to determine their interest for this date. Therefore, we ask that you assist the Central Council once again by distributing the enclosed revised questionnaire (see below) among your choir members and ask them to respond as quickly as possible.

There were only 14 responses to our first inquiry. The Central Council feels that more active interest is necessary in order to initiate this program.

Notes:
(1) No firm cost is yet available; however, based upon today's prices, a guesstimate is that the overall cost might run a minimum of $2,500.00 per person.
(2) Assuming that members of this touring choir will be from many parts of the diocese, the most convenient time for the rehearsals will be at the Annual Choir Assembly of the year 1999.
