Subject: TOURING CHOIR FOR THE YEAR 2000

Many of you may remember that a fervent request was made by His Beatitude Archbishop Torkom Manoogian, Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, on the occasion of his visit to our shores in 1996 for the Choir Association's 50th Anniversay. His Beatitude appealed to us to form a touring choir for the puspose of singing the Divine Liturgy and giving secular concerts in the Holy Land during the year 2000, commemorating the anniversary of the Birth of Chris.

In order for the Central Council to know your feelings and wishes, we have prepared a questionnaire, requesting some basic information from those who might be prospective members of this touring choir. The time of the trip to Jerusalem will be determined after consulting with His Beatitude as to the most opportune dates and prospective participants will be advised of the costs involved as soon as they are known.

Please copy and distribute this questionnaire among your choir members, asking them to respond as quickly as possible, so that the Central Council may be able to proceed with the formation of a working committee if, indeed, there is an interest. A separate form should be filled out be each interested person. Please remember that this is just a survey at this point. By filling out and returning the questionnaire now does not commit or obligate anyone in any way.
